Košice International Airport has welcomed 45 451 charter passengers in July 2017 which is the highest number in the history of the airport. In total 79 537 passengers were handled during this month, which is annual increase of 19 %. 

In the first seven months of 2017 Košice International Airport welcomed 266 662 passengers representing an annual increase of 13 %, i.e. plus 31 180 passengers as compared to the same period of 2016. 205 681 passengers used scheduled services between Košice and Bratislava, Prague, Kiev, London Luton, Doncaster Sheffield, Tel Aviv, Cologne, Vienna, Warsaw and Istanbul. This represents annual growth of 6 %. Charter passengers were up by 44 % which represents increase by 18 396 passengers.  

Chief executive officer and chairman of the management board of Košice International Airport, Michael Tmej: „In the first seven months of this year we handled more passengers than in whole years 2011, 2012 and 2013. This is another proof how remarkable progress we have done together with our partners in terms of connecting Eastern Slovakia to the whole world.” 

Some travellers have already finished their holidays and they may be already thinking about where to fly next.  The head of marketing Juraj Toth: „Summer doesn´t end and we invite travellers to relax in our charter destinations or to start planning their beach holiday in one of our easily accessible year-round sunny destinations such as Tel Aviv, Dubai, Bangkok, Miami, Los Angeles or the others on board of our partner airlines.”
