Flight no. 3414 of Egyptian air carrier FlyEgypt started the summer charter season at Košice Airport on Monday 28th May 2018. Boeing 737-800 with 180 passengers on board departed from Košice at 8:15. Chief executive officer and chairman of the management board of Košice Airport Michael Tmej introduced the full list of summer charter destinations from Košice:

„There are 19 destinations in total available from Košice this summer: Antalya (Turkey), Bourgas (Bulgaria), Lamezia Terme, Olbia (Italy), Larnaca (Cyprus), Ercan (Northern Cyprus), Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona (Spain), Heraklion, Rhodes, Corfu, Thessaloniki, Patras (Greece), Hurghada, Marsa Alam (Egypt), Monastir (Tunis), Rijeka (Croatia), Tirana (Albania), Podgorica (Montenegro).”

In comparison with the previous year there are some new destinations: Larnaca, Olbia, Patras, Marsa Alam, Podgorica. Flights to Bourgas, Heraklion, Rhodes, Larnaca, Lamezia Terme and Palma de Mallorca are available on sale also as a flight ticket only (without full package). The travellers can book the flights at the webpage of air carrier www.smartwings.com.  

During summer season 2017 Košice Airport handled record 120 323 charter passengers. According to current assumptions this year´s charter season can be again a record one. Michael Tmej adds: “We assume that besides the well-known destinations the travellers will happily choose also from the new attractive places like Larnaca on Cyprus or Podgorica in Montenegro. Long term parking fees remain on the decreased level, i.e. the price for seven days is just 36 EUR.”

More and more travellers use the summer period to travel to distanced places in North America or Asia.
