Summer charter season at the Airport Košice is now under way. It has started much sooner than in the last years, from 19 April with the Nesma Airlines flight to Hurghada in Egypt. Travel agencies offer 14 destinations in 9 countries in total with the flight from Košice:

Individual flight tickets will also be optional for purchase again to several destinations, which will please those travelers preferring an individual organization of their vacations.

Complete news is a seasonal regular line to Cyprian metropolis of Larnaca, which is operated since 11 June by the company Cyprus Airways once in a week.  Change in charter flight order, compared to last years, is a definite increase of the amount of airlines operating flights to individual seaside destinations. Besides stabile partners such as Smartwings, Bulgaria Air, or Tailwind, several new, respectively new and old, airlines will be using the services of the Airport Košice this summer, such as Anadolujet (daughter company of the Turkish Airlines flies to Antalya), Pegasus (Antalya), Orange2fly (Hurghada), or Astra Airlines (Corfu). 

In regards with the worldwide “grounding” of the airplane Boeing 737 Max, the Airport Košice, as well as other Slovak and Czech airports, has been facing a rapid decrease in the available flight capacity.

Michael Tmej, general director and Head of the Board of Directors of the Airport Košice, explains: “An uneasy global situation in air services has many times an impact on small regional airports and the shut-down of airplanes Boeing 737 Max is an example of such a situation. We are really glad that Slovak travel agencies have been able to replace the capacity outage of the company Smartwings by contracting other airline operators. The vacationists from all over Eastern Slovakia and larger surroundings can again enjoy flights to their favorite seaside destinations from their home-based airport, the Airport Košice.”

Generous offer of flights is provided even after the end of summer holidays. In the time until the end of October, flights to destinations such as Rhodes, Heraklion, Antalya, Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh will continue.
