55555 passager

After two years of operations between Warsaw Chopin Airport and Kosice International Airport, the 55.555th passenger flew from Slovakia on LOT’s board. On this occasion, the rewarded person was given a voucher for Warsaw-Kosice flight. All other passengers were offered a sweat treat. That outstanding result was achieved thanks to increased freqencies to Kosice. The timetable consisting of 11 flights weekly enables the most comfortable travels to Poland and worldwide.

"As many as 55 555 passengers served since the flight was opened in March 2016 is undoubtedly a great achievement for LOT and the Kosice Airport.. By implementing our profitable growth strategy we always try to meet demand of our passengers because it is for them we are opening new routes. This impressive result proves that there is a high potential to grow further in the region. For this reason, we have been continousely extending the number of frequencies on Warsaw-Kosice route accounting for 11 flights weekly now vs. 6 flights per week when the operations has started. We are able to ensure now the most convenient transfers via LOT’s hub in Warsaw to Western European destinations, such as Germany, Scandinavia and to North America – to Newark, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York” – said Adrian Kubicki, Director of Corporate Communications.

Michael Tmej, CEO and chairman of the management board of Kosice International Airport said:

“We are pleased to celebrate a milestone of LOT Polish Airlines – their 55.555th passenger in Košice. The fact that LOT increased frequencies on its Warsaw – Kosice route from 6 to 11 flights per week in just two years is a proof that Košice is an attractive destination for both business and leisure travellers and that our catchment area has enormous potential. We are looking forward to continue in our fruitful cooperation and I whish to LOT a lot of satisfied customers and happy landings in Košice!

Flights to Kosice were among 26 new connections launched in 2016. Since then, the flagship carrier of Poland has announced 58 new routes.
