Winter mode off, summer mode on!

Kosice International Airport implemented the summer flight schedule. This means significantly improved connectivity from eastern Slovakia thanks to the return of LOT Polish Airlines and increased frequencies of flights to Prague and London.

The Polish national carrier LOT is returning with its popular route to Warsaw, which operates six times a week with Embraer E170/175 jets. The route connects Kosice not only with the capital of Poland but also with dozens of destinations in Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa.

Ryanair has significantly increased the frequencies to Prague, which are now operated four times a week.

There will also be more frequent flights to London! Wizz Air will operate the route six times a week to London Luton airport, which now has a new train connection to central London. 

The capital of England is accessible twice a day almost every day, as Ryanair operates five flights per week to Stansted airport.

The CEO and Chairman of the Board of Košice Airport, Thomas Dworschak, said: 

"We started the year 2023 at a very brisk pace. In the first quarter, 91,076 passengers passed through our gates, which represents a year-on-year increase of 38 %. Compared to the pre-pandemic year of 2019, this is an increase of 8 %. Ryanair was the largest carrier, followed by Wizz Air and Austrian Airlines."

During the first quarter , the charter flights were operated from Košice to Oman, Senegal, Zanzibar, and Cape Verde. Deputy CEO and Board member Tomáš Jančuš added: 

"The huge interest in spring charter flights confirms the great desire to travel within our catchment area. For all travelers who can’t wait to relax on the beach, we have good news: The summer season will start at Košice airport earlier than usual, on April 26! The first charter flight will be heading to Hurghada, Egypt."

Over 550 charter flights to nine destinations in Turkey (Antalya), Bulgaria (Burgas), Greece (Heraklion, Rhodes), Croatia (Brac), Egypt (Hurghada, Marsa Matruh), Tunisia (Monastir), and Cyprus (Larnaca) are scheduled to depart from Košice during the whole summer season.

Austrian Airlines 11x/week to Vienna and further within their wide network of destinations in Europe, USA, Canada and the Caribbean.

Ryanair to destinations: London Stansted (5x/week), Prague (4x/week), Liverpool (2x/week), Dublin (2x/week).

Wizz Air to destination London Luton (6x/week).
