Over 32,000 passengers on more than 300 flights have used the popular air service between Košice and Zürich. The route was launched by Swiss International Air Lines exactly a year ago. Since its launch, the Košice – Zürich connection has become popular not only among business travellers and tourists but also among Slovaks living in Switzerland. The flight provides a convenient and fast link to the Swiss metropolis, an important financial hub and a key international transit point.
CEO & Chairman of the management board of Košice Airport Thomas Dworschak said: „ We are delighted by the positive response from passengers and the excellent performance of this route. Its introduction was a crucial step toward enhancing the air connectivity of Košice and the region. We believe that its continued success will strengthen ties between Slovakia and Switzerland, whether in tourism, business, or personal travel, even more so with increased capacity.”
This exclusive direct air service between Slovakia and Switzerland opens a gateway of opportunities within the SWISS network for travellers from Eastern Slovakia. It offers seamless connections to long-haul destinations such as Tel Aviv, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Johannesburg, Montreal, New York, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, with convenient transfers in Zurich. Additionally, the route provides perfect connections to numerous European destinations within the SWISS network, including Milan, Stockholm, Geneva, Venice, and Valencia, enhancing the travel experience for our passengers.
