On Sunday 29th October winter flight schedule 2017/2018 will become effective. There will be nine scheduled destinations operated from Košice Airport what is the same number as during previous winter.
Two newest legacy carriers are increasing number of their frequencies as compared to previous winter season: LOT Polish Airlines will operate 8 weekly flights to Warsaw (+2) and Turkish Airlines will connect Eastern Slovakia with its hub in Istanbul 4 times per week (+1).
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of Košice International Airport, Michael Tmej: „During the upcoming winter there will be more than 60 scheduled flights departing from Košice every week on board of five carriers. What is very important is the connectivity delivered to Eastern Slovakia by the network carriers. All of them have some new exciting destinations in their network, for example Berlin (LOT Polish Airlines), Phuket (Turkish Airlines), Seychelles (Austrian Airlines).”
Even though summer in the calendar is already over, with flights from Košice summer doesn´t end. Head of marketing of Košice International Airport, Juraj Toth: “For holiday travellers from our catchment area willing to fly to winter exotic destinations it is no longer necessary to waste time driving to Budapest or other airports. Many wonderful places like Dubai, Maldives, Thailand or Seychelles are available with departure from Košice. More information can be found on www.zkosicdosveta.sk”.
In addition, those passengers who are already dreaming about their summer holiday for 2018 can include one totally new destination to their plans: Larnaca. Czech carrier Smartwings already announced it will fly to Larnaca from Košice on a seasonal basis from 11th June until 27th September.
