German carrier Eurowings will connect Eastern Slovakia with the region of Nord-Rhein Westfalen and its wide network of European and intercontinental destinations.

Eurowings, the best airline in Germany (2017) and member of Lufthansa Group will fly from Košice to Düsseldorf. The first flight will take off from Košice on the 28th October 2018. The route will be operated mid-day 4 times per week with a Dash Q400 aircraft on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Tickets from 29,99 € (one way incl. all fees and cabin baggage) are already available on www.eurowings.com. Eurowings will offer many convenient connecting flights via its Düsseldorf hub, for example: New York, Miami, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Ibiza, Hamburg, Madrid, etc.

The route Düsseldorf – Košice is a result of the competition Vote & Fly in which Košice got the most votes out of 6 nominated destinations. Thanks to the outstanding support of the whole community, 20 000 people voted for Košice during one hour of the live final on Eurowings Facebook page.

Ivan Oreč, senior manager network development, Eurowings on today´s press conference in Košice said: „We are pleased to announce our first route to Slovakia starting at the end of October. The link between Düsseldorf and Kosice will operate 4 times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
