Passenger Rights

Your time spent traveling can expand due to unforeseen flight delays or cancellations. Such flight disruption might ruin your dream vacation or important business trip. You might be dealing with a cancelled flight for the first time and don't know what to do. What are your rights? Can you claim compensation, demand transport from the airport or hotel accommodation?

If your flight is departing from an airport in the EU or from an airport in a country outside the EU to an airport in the EU and your flight is delayed or cancelled, your airline must help. This is because your flight is protected by EUROPEAN REGULATION (EC) NO. 261/2004.

In 2004 the EU adopted a body of rules designed to protect passengers against the inconvenience caused by long waiting times or flight cancellations, which the airline had the power to prevent. EUROPEAN REGULATION (EC) NO. 261/2004 contains important information about passengers’ rights and common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights.

Every passenger should be aware of their rights, so that they could minimize problematic situations when something unexpected occurs.
