Košice Airport continues to be one of the top airports in Europe in terms of speed of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. According to ACI Europe, European airports are on average 3% below their 2019 passenger levels. However, Košice Airport recorded a remarkable 10% increase in passenger traffic in the first ten months of this year compared to the pre-pandemic year of 2019.

The airport owes much of its success to the most successful charter season in Košice Airport's history. A total of 191,407 passengers were handled on charter flights from May to October, an increase of 18% compared to the same period last year and 6% compared to 2019. By far the most popular destination was Antalya in Turkey, followed by Larnaca in Cyprus, Hurghada in Egypt, Rhodes in Greece and Burgas in Bulgaria.

In total, 559,282 passengers were handled on all flights between January and October 2023, an increase of 15% compared to last year and 10% compared to the same period in 2019. In October this year, the airport handled 41 327 passengers, an increase of 10% compared to last year and 15% compared to 2019.

Although the summer charter season ended in October, Košice continues to offer flights to sunny destinations with beautiful beaches, such as Dubai and Miami with LOT Polish Airlines and the Maldives and Bangkok with Austrian Airlines.

From 27 March 2024, the Swiss airline SWISS will operate three flights a week from Košice to Zurich. With connecting flights in Zurich, destinations such as Singapore, Shanghai, Sao Paulo and Johannesburg will be conveniently accessible from Košice.

LOT Polish Airlines: 6 flights a week to Warsaw and other destinations within its extensive network in Europe, the USA, Canada, Asia and Africa.

Austrian Airlines: 11 flights a week to Vienna and other destinations within its extensive network in Europe, the USA, Canada and the Caribbean.

Ryanair to destinations: London Stansted (5 times a week), Prague (4 times a week), Liverpool (2 times a week).

Wizz Air to London Luton (5 flights a week).
