In the first quarter of 2018 Košice International Airport welcomed 92 063 passengers representing an annual increase of 20%, i.e. 15 230 passengers. Aircraft movements in the first quarter increased by 37 % to 2 295 movements. 39 369 tons of MTOW represent annual increase by 38 %. This March 33 065 passengers were handled, 17 % more than in March 2017.

Chief executive officer and chairman of the management board of Košice Airport Michael Tmej said: „This year has started very optimistically for us, with 20 % passenger growth in the first quarter. It is the second best start of the year in the history of Košice Airport. The growth was mainly driven by our newest legacy carriers LOT Polish Airlines and Turkish Airlines. Both of them recorded significant passengers increase as compared to the same period of previous year.”

Summer holiday packages of tour operators with departures from Košice are already on sale.
